Right in the heart of the east end there
is a very special place, a place you can be proud of, a
place you can call home. Boon’s House was always a dream
of mine, but not just a dream. It is also a belief in my
community and a respect for my neighbours, a respect for
you.
For the last 25 years I have been an East
Ender. I graduated from Sir Winston Churchill, married
an east end girl, and now I am raising a son in this
same community. This is a community of hard working,
honest, and respectable people. We all know that there
is a small stretch of Barton Street that has been a
thorn in our side for years, giving the whole area a bad
name. We setup shop right in the middle of that stretch
and believe that together we can make a difference.
Boon’s House provides a place for people who just want a
nice place to go without going too far from home. We are
Rockin’ Blues Lounge. We specialize in Blues, Jazz,
Acoustic and Folk music, Soul music in general. We offer
home cooking made simple and filling. We provide a safe
haven and place of comfort amidst the hustle and bustle
of Barton Street. We have never had an incident here. We
have never had the police here, other than the
occasional noise complaint from the music.
Boon’s House brings a downtown vibe to
the east end, but doesn’t bring the downtown prices.
Every Tuesday night we have Boon’s Off the Hook Blues
Revue & Jam night, which features one great performer
each week amidst a multitude of great musical talent at
the jam. Wednesday nights, join We Got Blues, for a
history lesson in the Blues. Thursday is our version of
Karaoke which has 2Xtreme Entertainment bringing
in over 70,000 songs for you to choose from. Friday
night is our big night, featuring any number of great
shows and performances. Most of the time, there is no
cover, but if there is we promise it will be worth it.
Saturday Nights we reserve as our Acoustic Night and the
night for special events, currently featuring local
talent, Chad Pilon and friends. Sunday is a pretty quiet
night around here, perfect to relax and rest up before
getting back to the grind of work on Monday. We are also
seeking members to form an In House Pool League on
Sunday Nights. Monday we
are now open 8pm until Midnight. Live music, amazing food, great environment
… all at an affordable price.
Stop by for a drink. Stop by for a bite
to eat. Stop by to enjoy the best in live music. We
don’t open until 4pm, so you have time to go home, clean
up a little and come on by to kick back in the lounge
atmosphere. Yes there is a dress code in effect. Clean
clothing, jeans, nice shirts, etc. You get the idea. We
don’t allow gang wear of any kind, no torn clothing, no
baggy pants, nothing offensive. If you offend the staff
or other customers you will be asked to leave. You
should also know that you may be photographed here at
any time. With live entertainment, you never know when
the camera will make its way around.
